BeatScope ("we", "us", "App") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Spanish legislation.

By using BeatScope, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and consent to the processing of your personal data as described herein.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect and process the following categories of personal and technical data:

a. Account Information

• Email address (from authentication providers)
• Username/nickname
• Profile photo
• User authentication type (Spotify or Apple Music)
• Gender (if provided)
• Social media links (Instagram, TikTok, Discord, X/Twitter URLs - optional)

b. Device Information

• Device identifiers
• Usage statistics
• Crash reports and diagnostics
• App version information

c. Location Information

• Real-time GPS/geolocation coordinates (latitude, longitude)
• Location accuracy, altitude, speed, heading, and timestamp
• Location is collected only when you grant permission and when the App is active
• Location data is used to display your position on the map and enable location-based features

d. Music Activity (via SDKs)

• Current playing track information (track ID, name, artist, album artwork)
• Playback state (playing, paused, progress)
• Track metadata (duration, preview URLs, images)
• Data provided by Spotify and Apple Music SDKs with your explicit consent
• This data may be displayed to other users on the map when you are visible

e. User-Generated Content (UGC)

• Map Drawings:
  • Drawing coordinates (including precise GPS location where drawing was created)
  • Drawing paths (stroke data, colors, points)
  • Creation timestamp
  • Drawings are automatically deleted after 5 minutes
• Events:
  • Event name, description, and address
  • Event location coordinates
  • Event date and time
  • Event creator information
  • Event link
  • List of events you are participating in
• Profile customization choices (backgrounds, borders)

f. Purchase and Subscription Data

• In-app purchase history (BeatNotes packages, Event Tokens)
• Subscription status and information (BeatPro subscription)
• Purchase receipts and transaction IDs
• Subscription renewal dates
• Payment information is processed by Apple App Store (we do not store payment card details)

g. Usage and Behavioral Data

• Profile view tracking (stored locally on your device):
  • Number of profiles viewed per day
  • Timestamp of first profile view each day (Used to enforce daily viewing limits for non-premium users)
• Drawing energy usage and regeneration timestamps
• Interaction data (events created, events participated in)

3. Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing

We process personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:

Where legitimate interest is used, we ensure that such processing does not override your rights and freedoms.

4. Data Sharing

We may share your data with:

• Service providers (hosting, analytics, crash reporting, cloud infrastructure)
• Payment processors (Apple App Store)
• Spotify and Apple Music SDKs, in accordance with their privacy policies
• Public authorities, when required by law
• Supabase (database hosting and authentication)
• Apple App Store (for in-app purchases and subscriptions)

Some partners may process data outside the EEA. In such cases, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

5. Map Drawings & Third-Party Personal Data

Users are solely responsible for any personal data of third parties included in Map Drawings or other forms of UGC.

BeatScope disclaims all liability for user-created content and any resulting legal consequences.

We may remove any content that violates GDPR, Spanish law, or these Terms.

Map Drawings automatically expire after 5 minutes and are deleted from all backups.

Technical limits (line count, text length) are implemented to reduce risks of posting sensitive data.

Users must ensure that their content complies with applicable data protection and local laws.

6. BeatNotes and Digital Items

Digital items (including avatars, effects, backgrounds) are provided on an "as is" basis.

They may be modified, updated, or removed at any time without prior notice.

Users are granted a limited in-app license only.

Removal or modification of digital items does not require user consent, even if the items are in use.

7. SDK Integration (Spotify / Apple Music)

By logging in through Spotify or Apple Music, you grant explicit consent for data processing performed through their SDKs.

Data may include, depending on your permissions:

• Account information
• Playback history
• Listening activity

This data may be processed outside the European Union. Use of these services is subject to their respective privacy policies and terms:

8. Geolocation & Incognito Mode

Users may enable or disable geolocation at any time through device settings.

In Incognito Mode, your location is hidden from other users while all App features remain accessible.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:

• Account data: retained until your account is deleted
• Map Drawings: deleted after 5 minutes, including backups
• BeatNotes and digital items: retained for operational functionality and anonymized analytics
• Analytics and crash reports: anonymized or deleted after 12 months
• Profile view data: Stored locally, reset daily, cleared when app is uninstalled
• Events: Retained until event date passes or user deletes it
• Purchase history: Retained for tax/legal compliance (typically 7 years in Spain)

Anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes.

10. User Rights under GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access
• Right to rectification
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
• Right to withdraw consent
• Right to data portability
• Right to object to processing
• Right to lodge a complaint with the AEPD (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos)

We will respond to all rights requests within one month.

11. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use the following categories of cookies and tracking technologies:

• Functional cookies: essential for App operation
• Analytics cookies: anonymized usage and performance data
• Third-party cookies: associated with Spotify / Apple Music integrations

Users may revoke consent at any time through device or App settings.

Analytics cookies may be stored for up to 12 months.

Anonymized data may remain for statistical purposes after consent is withdrawn.

12. Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures, including:

• Encryption of data in transit and at rest
• Restricted access controls
• Continuous monitoring and regular security audits
• Industry-standard best practices to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or misuse

13. Children

BeatScope is not intended for users under 13 years of age.

If we become aware that we have processed personal data from a child under 13, we will delete such data immediately.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Users will be notified of significant changes through the App or via email, where required by law.

Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
